SOCIAL SECURITY FAIRNESS ACT

Retroactive payments, by state and ZIP

Explore SSA’s published payments following the repeal of WEP and GPO.

SSA pages last updated June 10, 2025. These are retroactive payments from larger-scale automation, separate from the monthly benefit figures above.

Enter a ZIP code to see its published row.

Coverage, suppression and source downloads

SSA excludes cases processed manually and in smaller automation runs. X means a value is suppressed to protect individuals, not zero. An absent ZIP has no published row here; it does not mean no payments.

SSA warns that state figures may differ from sums of ZIP figures. ZIP codes are postal areas and may cross congressional districts. This atlas does not allocate these amounts to districts or combine the two tables into a new total.

“Last updated” is SSA’s page label; no separate payment cutoff date is asserted. Retrieval dates and exact source receipts are recorded in the downloadable data.
